Mozilla Firefox 32.0.3 now arrives for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS & Ubuntu 12.04 LTS


Canonical officially announces the release of Mozilla Firefox 32.0.3 browser in Ubuntu repository with minor fixes and improvements. This updated release primarily includes vulnerabilities fixes so that users of Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS can use it without any problem.

According to official announcement, Firefox 32.0.3 browser comes with fixed security issues specially for Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. Some of the fraudulent security certificates are fixed in this release which might allow sensitive information to be exposed when accessing the internet.

One of the developer, Antoine Delignat Lavaud , with others discovered that NSS incorrectly handles parsing ASN.1 values which allows an attacker to use this issue to forge RSA certificates. You might also like to check out other latest Software News on our website.

Mozilla Thunderbird 31.0 (Mail Client) released with Number of Bug Fixes


Mozilla Thunderbird community officially announces the release of Mozilla Thunderbird 31.0 with several bug fixes. After a long span, the community announce this release with number of bug fixes. This release primarily includes fixes so if someone expecting new features then they might get disappointed with this release.

According to official announcement, Mozilla Thunderbird 31.0 comes with fixes CSS variables and opening a message, feed or newsgroup message in a tab results in an empty transparent tab. This release makes nsMessengerWinIntegration.cpp compile with frozon linkage and also fixes signed/unsigned compiler warnings in mailnews.

Other major bug fixes includes selecting spans of different color in HTML message compose produces CSS warning, instantly get and use favicon for feed after importing feeds from opml file or adding single feed, Address Book quick search for strings with round brackets fails. List of Bug Fixes Made in Thunderbird 31.0

- Expose remote content per-host privileges,
- Composition's recipient autocomplete does not / fails to show all matching address book entries.
- Show favicon next to RSS/Atom feeds.
- Directed messages should be able to hook into system prompts/give notifications.
- Build Thunderbird with frozen linkage / external API - Windows fixes.
- Provide a non-rdf way to go from a URI to a msgFolder.
- Followup fix for Bug 955869.
- Move UTF-7 decoder/encoder to comm-central.
- Hovering over a separated toolbar button hides the separator even in its disabled state.
- Filelink: YouSendIt is now Hightail.

How to Install Firefox 37.0.2 using Source Tarball on Various Linux Distros

Mozilla Foundation recently announces the release of Firefox 37.0.2 browser but still this updated firefox is not available in repository of many Linux Distros, but the community also provided the alternative options through which you can easily install the latest Firefox 37.0.2 browser in your favorite Linux Distros. The updated Firefox 37.0.2 browser comes with several improvements and bugfixes.

In today's HowTo Tutorial, we will discuss how to install Firefox 37.0.2 Web Browser using source tarball on 32-bit or 64-bit Linux Distros. Well we haven't tested this command on various distros, but you can try it but carefully because if something gone wrong then you are completely responsible for it.

Step Wise Installation of Firefox 37.0.2 Browser using Source Tarball on 32-bit and 64-bit Linux Distros

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to download latest 32-bit or 64-bit source tarball of Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux distro.
 
For 32-bit systems,
$ wget ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/37.0.2/linux-i686/en-US/firefox-37.0.2.tar.bz2
For 64-bit systems,
$ wget ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/37.0.2/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-37.0.2.tar.bz2
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to extract the contents of downloaded 32-bit or 64-bit source tarball of Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux system.
$ tar -xjvf firefox-37.0.2.tar.bz2
Step 3 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to remove all the files and folders of existing Firefox browser from your Linux system.
$ sudo rm -rf /opt/firefox*
Step 4 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to move extracted "firefox" folder into /opt/ directory.
$ sudo mv firefox /opt/firefox
Step 5 : Finally, run the following command in terminal to install latest Firefox 37.0.2 browser on your Linux system.
$ sudo ln -sf /opt/firefox/firefox /usr/bin/firefox

Firefox 35 now available for Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS & Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

Canonical officially announces the release of Mozilla Firefox 35 Web Browser update for Ubuntu 14.10, Ubuntu 14.04, Ubuntu 12.04 along with other variants including Kubuntu 14.10, 14.04, Xubuntu 14.10, 14.04, Lubuntu 14.10, 14.04 and Linux Mint 17. All you have to do is to update your system and it will automatically update the Firefox version to Firefox 35.

With the new version update of Firefox, the Ubuntu team already pushed this updated firefox version to repositories of all Ubuntu variants, so users can directly get the updated version of Firefox on their system. The Bobby Holley discovered some DOM objects with certain properties can bypass XrayWrappers in some circumstances.

The new Firefox 35 web browser is primarily includes few improvements along with minor security fixes. Mozilla Firefox 33 Beta available with OMTC, New CSP & OpenH264 Support


Mozilla Foundation officially announces the release of Firefox 33.0 beta with several new features along with minor known issues. Well as you know that currently Firefox 32 branch is available and now developers decided to move towards another beta branch with new features. Whatever changes they have proposed in this beta release are available for all platforms including Linux, Windows and Mac.

According to official announcement, Mozilla Firefox 33.0 Beta comes with enhanced tiles, continued experimentation with WebRTC-powered communications feature and new CSP (Content Security Policy) backend. This release also support OpenH264, improved reliability of session restoration, improved search experience through location bar and support for connecting to HTTP proxy over HTTPS.

Among other new features, Mozilla Firefox 33 Beta includes new Azerbaijani locale with OMTC enabled support for Windows, and slimmer and faster JavaScript strings. The proprietary window.crypto properties/functions are removed from this release along with removed JSD (JavaScript Debugger Service) in favor of Debugger Interface.

The HTML5 support of Firefox 32 also recieves some modifications in WebCrypto like support for RSA-OAEP, RBKDF2 and AES-KW, wrapKey and unwrapKey implemented and Import/export of JWK-formatted keys. From developers point of view, Firefox 33 beta brings cubic bezier curves editor, display which elements have listeners attached, paint flashing for browser content repaints, editable @keyframes rules in Rules section of Inspector and CSS transform highlighter in the style-inspector. Mozilla Firefox 35 Beta released with Improved Firefox Hello & H264 Support

Mozilla Foundation officially announces the release of Firefox 35 Beta Web Browser with minor new features along with few fixes. Few days ago, Mozilla just announced the release of Firefox 34 and now they have announced the beta version of upcoming Firefox 35 browser. The regular user might not experience any new feature between Firefox 34 and Firefox 35 because this release probably includes some security fixes and improvements.

According to official announcement, Mozilla Firefox 35 Beta Web Browser comes with built-in support for H264 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard and newer through native APIs. It also includes improved handling of dynamic styling changes to increase responsiveness. The main highlighted feature "Firefox Hello" comes with new rooms based conversation model.

This release also implemented HTTP Public Key Pinning Extension specially for enhanced authentication of encrypted connections. Some of the HTML5 changes are also implemented in this release such as resource timing API implemented, CSS filters enabled by default, WebSocket available in Workers and changed JavaSript 'let; semantics to match the ES6 specification.

Firefox 35 Beta for developers comes with support for inspecting ::before and ::after pseudo elements. The noded matching the hovered selector are now highlighted in computed view. Apart from this, Firefox 35 Beta also includes minor bugfixes such as reduced resource usage for scaled images, PDF.js updated to version 1.0.907 and shows DOM Properties context menu item in inspector. Mozilla Foundation officially announces the release of Firefox 33.1 Web Browser with few new features and minor fixes. According to official announcement, Mozilla Firefox 33.1 Web Browser comes with support for forget button along with enhanced tiles which you general view on your default dashboard of Firefox browser. Mozilla Foundation officially announces the release of Firefox 34 Web Browser with new changes and minor fixes. Firefox 34 comes with default Yahoo search engine instead of Google search engine for all US users. Firefox also claims that in other parts of World, users might experience another search engine instead of default google search engine.

According to official announcement, Mozilla Firefox 34 Browser comes with improved search bar along with addition of Firefox Hello real-time communication client. The default search engine of Firefox is now changed to Yandex for Belarusian, Kazakh and Russian locales. You can also easily switch themes/personas directly in the Customizing mode.

The Wikipedia search feature of this release now uses HTTPS for secure searching but this is only applicable for en-US browsers only. The implementation of HTTP/2 and ALPAN is also done in this release. Some of the changes which are made in this release includes disbaled SSLv3, firefox signed by Apple OS X version 2 signature and proprietary window.crypto properties/functions re-enabled.

As you know that since from previous few versions, Firefox is trying to include HTML5 concepts in it. Like earlier, this release also includes HTML5 concepts such as implemented ECMAScript 6 WeakSet and implemented JavaScript Template Strings. The Webcrypto feature receives support for RSA-OAEP, PBKDF2 and AES-KW along with implemented wrapKey and unwrapKey.

The Firefox 34 also comes with features designed specially for developers like introduction of WebIDE which allows you to create, edit and test new Web application from your browser along with improved user interface of profiler. At last, it includes fixes like CSS trasitions start correctly when started at the same time as changes to display, position, overflow and similar properties along with several security fixes.
