How to Install HandBrake 0.10 Video Transcoder via PPA on Ubuntu & Linux Mint
HandBrake is a simple tool which is used for converting video from one format into other format and supports wide variety of music codecs. It process most of the common multimedia files along with support for Video Encoders like H.264, H.265 and Audio Encoders such as AAC, CoreAudio AAC/HE-AAC, MP3 and Flac.
Other key features offered by HandBrake tool includes title/chapter selection, queue up multiple encodes, chapter markers, subtitles, constant quality or average bitrate video encoding, support for VFR, CFR and VFR and live Video previews. In today's HowTo Tutorial, we will discuss how to install HandBrake 0.10 using PPA on Ubuntu 14.10, 14.04, Kubuntu 14.10, 14.04, Xubuntu 14.10, 14.04, Linux Mint 17 and other latest PPA based Linux Distros.

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for HandBrake 0.10 on your PPA based Linux Distros.

Step 1 : Before beginning the installation, Open the terminal and run or copy the following command in terminal to add PPA for HandBrake 0.10 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases
Step 2 : Next, run or copy the following command in terminal to update recently added PPA for HandBrake 0.10 in the software repository on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get update
Step 3 : Finally, run or copy the following command in terminal to install latest stable HandBrake 0.10 on your PPA based Linux Distros.
$ sudo apt-get install handbrake
After installation, search for "HandBrake" application either in Unity Dash or in Application menu. Now with the help of HandBrake convert your audio and video files from one format to another format on your system.

Video Transcoder, HandBrake 0.10 Beta 1 gets Minor Improvements & Fixes
HandBrake developers officially announces the release of HandBrake 0.10 Beta 1 with minor new changes and fixes. As you know that this is a beta release which primarily includes bug fixes and proposed new features. HandBrake is a tool which is used for converting video from nearly any format.
According to official announcement, HandBrake 0.10 Beta 1 comes with minor improvements along with addition of new API which the development team has planned for upcoming stable HandBrake 1.0 release. This release also includes huge number of changes and improvements.
The HandBrake 0.10 Beta 1 comes with support for DXVA Hardware Decode along with support for Intel QuickSync Video Encode/Decode. It includes Lanczos as the application's default scaler, new NIMeans denoiser, addition of Windows Phone 8 Preset and updated Libav 10.1.
